Dearest community:
It is becoming increasingly hard to make sense of the bizarre world we are inheriting, one in which the longest government shut down in US history teeters toward total fascist takeover and yet still the nectarine trees bloom and the tired winter soils drink in the fresh taste of rain.
The White Noise Collective has emerged from our annual reflection process giving thanks for another year of conspiring (check out this summary of our work in 2018) and looking forward to a new year of growth, movement, expansion, and struggle to bring to life the more beautiful world we dream of.
Thinking toward 2020, the work of the White Noise Collective within the broader ecosystem of racial and social justice agitators feels more important than ever. Recognizing that the majority of white women in the US voted for Trump in 2016, and that shifting this vote will be necessary to reclaiming power and ending the economic violence and warfare against marginalized peoples and the planet, we at White Noise want to dream bigger, be bolder, and make our work more visible to our comrades across the country doing the hard work of pushing for collective freedom. This is no time to stay small or succumb to doubt.
In 2019, we aspire to continue to offer our regular dialogues and workshops, and also to take new, bold initiatives to advance this soul work. Stay tuned for a new and revamped website that makes our resources, curriculum, and analysis more accessible and visible.
We also want to support you where you are at, and get our curriculum out into the world more. Do you want to develop your leadership and facilitation skills with White Noise Collective and co-offer one of our workshops in your religious community or workplace? Have you always wanted to go to The Permaculture Convergence, Teachers for Social Justice, or another upcoming conference? If you have a community in mind to bring this work to, we would love to support you with sharing curriculum, proposing a workshop, and building facilitation skills.
