SURJ moves funds and resources to many of the same POC-led organizations as WNC. Please see their end of year donation request and offer what you can! -WNC

Dear family, friends and comrades,
We are all receiving requests for donations for many worthwhile causes. Please consider how much of your giving goes to people of color-led organizing. You can make a donation today to support 12 local people of color-led grassroots groups on the frontlines of working for racial justice.
The Bay Area SURJ chapter is part of a network of white organizers, activists and educators committed to building a national organization of local chapters working in rural area, small towns, and urban areas to educate and mobilize white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice, with passion and accountability.
Each of our 130 chapters supports local Black, Indigenous, and people of color-led organizations, working on their campaigns and events, spreading the word about their efforts, and raising money to fund their work.
We started the Bay Area chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) about 4 years ago and for the last 3 years the bulk of the fundraising takes place during SURJ’s end-of-year #12DaysToShowUp campaign. This year 75% of proceeds will go directly to 12 local people of color-led partner organizations to continue their work (see below)*, and 25% will go to under-resourced rural SURJ chapters across the country to combat racism where it is needed most.
There are many ways to leverage resources for racial justice—time, energy, skills, connections and, of course money. People of color-led organizing is woefully under resourced and one way of many that white people can show up for racial justice is by contributing to those groups on the front lines of grassroots organizing in our communities.
Your donation to SURJ Bay Area today goes to support local groups working in a variety of areas for racial justice.
Any amount that you can contribute – $5, $50, $500, or whatever works for you – will help
